These terms cover use of the Soren Lighting website. Work we carry out for you is governed by the separate written proposal and contract you sign, which takes precedence over anything here if the two disagree.

Using this website

The content here is provided for general information. Photographs show completed projects and are illustrative; results on your property will depend on its architecture, planting, grade, and existing light.

Text, photographs, and designs on this site belong to Soren Lighting or are used with permission. Do not reproduce them without our written consent.

Estimates and quotes

Enquiries submitted through this site are requests for a consultation, not a booking, and do not create a contract. We will contact you to arrange a site visit.

Design consultations are free and carry no obligation. Any figure discussed before a site visit is an indication only. A binding price is given in a written quote after we have seen the property.

Written quotes remain valid for [NUMBER] days. After that, material and labor costs may have changed and we may need to requote.

Scheduling and weather

Exterior lighting is installed and aimed outdoors, and Northern Nevada weather does not always cooperate. We may reschedule for snow, high wind, or unsafe conditions. We will give you as much notice as we can and are not liable for costs arising from a weather delay.

Final aiming is done after dark, which usually means a separate evening visit. Your installation is not complete until it has happened.

Access and site conditions

You agree to give us safe access to the property on agreed dates, including gates, side yards, and any locked areas, and to secure pets during work.

You are responsible for telling us about anything buried that we would not otherwise know about — irrigation lines, invisible fencing, low-voltage runs, drainage, and private utilities. We take reasonable care and locate public utilities as required, but we are not liable for damage to unmarked private lines that were not disclosed.

If you rent the property or it is subject to an HOA or architectural committee, obtaining permission is your responsibility unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Payment

Payment terms are set out in your written quote. Unless it says otherwise, a deposit of [PERCENTAGE]% is due on acceptance and the balance on completion. Late balances may carry interest at [RATE]% per month or the maximum the law allows, whichever is lower.

Warranty

Fixtures and components carry the manufacturer warranty that applies to them. Our workmanship is warranted for [PERIOD] from completion. Exact terms are on your quote.

The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, alteration by anyone other than us, storm or flood damage, vandalism, vehicle or equipment impact, landscaping or snow removal carried out by others, or normal wear such as lens clouding over many years.

Landscape lighting needs periodic re-aiming as planting matures. Re-aiming visits are [INCLUDED FOR PERIOD / QUOTED SEPARATELY].

Cancellation

You may cancel before materials are ordered or custom track is cut, and we will refund your deposit less any costs already incurred. After that point, deposits cover ordered material and are non-refundable. Cancellation rights required by Nevada law are unaffected by this paragraph.

Photography

We may photograph completed work for our portfolio, website, and marketing. We do not publish your name or street address. Tell us in writing before installation if you would rather we did not photograph your property.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability arising from the website or from work performed is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Washoe County, Nevada.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Work already contracted is governed by the terms in force when you signed.
